Our Thelo United board is 100% volunteer based.  All current members, and the majority of our past membership, have had children in the program.  

The Boards goal is to provide our club with the best possible locations, equipment and resources in order for players and teams to develop and grow. 

As the club continues to progress every year, we are always looking for support from our membership and local community.  Currently we are looking to expand our volunteer opportunities to a Fundraising Coordinator.  The goal of this position is to help bring funds in via fundraising or sponsorship opportunities in order to help drive our registration prices down for our players.

Brian came to Thelo from Milwaukie Soccer Club as a coach.  He's been with Thelo for over 5 years now, serving as head coach for the 08Boys teams, and taking on a newly formed 05Boys team in 2021.  

Brian has served on the Thelo board in multiple capacities, including Rec Liaison and Vice President.

Brian moved into the DOC position in July of 2023.  Brian had previously held the role of Recreation Liaison.  Brian started his coaching career with Thelo in 2019 on the boys side.   Brian started his coaching career with North Clackamas Soccer Club, before taking his eldest son to Thelo in 2019.  Since then, Brian also transitioned his daughter's team, from NCSC, to Thelo as well.  Now Brian coaches both with the High School Girls and the High School Boys at Thelo, while also coaching his 2nd grade son with NCSC.

Brian's current goal is to continue to build on the growth of the last year, that included adding 2 youth teams.  Brian wants to continue to provide more youth opportunities within our community for players to experience the difference at Thelo, where we focus on developing youth as soccer players and positive members of our community.  We put community and family first.

My own experiences as a youth player in competitive soccer drive me to help my players develop soccer skills and tactical awareness, create camaraderie with their teammates, engage in the character building that comes with competitive experiences, with an overall goal of helping them maintain and further develop their love for the game. I bring experience and training as a high school teacher to my coaching, and continue to engage in the sport as a player with my former high school and club teammates on a futsal team.

"I joined the board in 2022 after my son Tabor had been playing in the boys program for about 1 year. We switched over from another competitive league and immediately found it refreshing how open, welcoming, and supportive the entire Thelo program was. It was exactly the community our family was looking for! 

My entire family grew up playing soccer and I started coaching at Cleveland High School (my alma mater) in 2002 and coached high school girls on and off there for about 10 years. I also coached some of my younger kids teams through their rec programs with SE Soccer Club. 

Currently I'm taking a break from coaching and am a very busy mom of five and social worker for Clackamas County. In my free time I love to hike, camp, workout, and spend time in my permaculture garden."
